Hand luggage or suitcase - which size do I need?

Basically, the question is how long I'm going on vacation and whether I want to go shopping there and my suitcase is fuller at the end of the trip than when I started.

Travel duration maximum 3 days?

The hand luggage suitcase (size approx. 55cm), also often referred to as a weekender, is perfect for this. It is small and can be taken on board as hand luggage with most airlines.

Travel duration a maximum of a week?

In this case, we recommend the so-called city suitcase (size approx. 65cm), an intermediate size for smaller trips. It has a handy format and is often used on train and bus journeys as it can be stowed almost anywhere and still offers plenty of space. Although it is handy, it must be handed in at the check-in counter when traveling by plane and will reach its destination in the belly of the aircraft.

Travel duration more than a week?

Then a large travel suitcase (size approx. 75cm) with plenty of space must be used. Also perfect for shopping trips all over the world if the purchases need to reach home safely and intact, but for safety reasons with an expansion fold to expand the packing volume. If you're planning a normal vacation, you can do without the so-called expansion fold; what fits in your suitcase at home will also fit at the end of the trip.
